You can put your Skill Points in any field you want, but putting them in a certain way is what players call a build. Below is a list of racially recommended builds.

Melee This build supports the player's melee stats. For the first 100 levels, put 100 stat points into Ki Max, then for the next 50 levels, put all the stat points into Melee Damage and Melee Resistance, until you reach level 500, and if you wish to go beyond, put all other stat points into Melee Damage. ---
Balanced This build involves distributing Skill Points equally. Put stat points in Health and Ki Max equally. Always have 50 more stat points in Melee Damage than Ki Damage. Everything you want to put in Ki Resistance put only in Melee Resistance. Have your Speed stat 50 less stat points than in Melee Resistance. ---
Power This build can make the player stronger, by putting points in fairly. For every 19 levels, put 5 in Melee Damage, 3 in Ki Max, 3 in Melee and Ki Resistance, 2 in Health Max, 2 in Ki Damage, and 1 in Speed. ---

Balanced This build involves distributing Skill Points equally. For every 5 levels, apply 1 point in Ki Max, 1 in Health Max, 1 in Ki Damage, 1 in Melee Damage, and 1 in Speed. ---
Kaioken x100 This build helps the player overcome Kaioken x100's excessive HP drain. For every 10 levels, put 5 points in Health Max and 5 others in anything you want. According to SnakeWorl, Humans have a hidden HP buff. Therefore, this build will not only up the player's Health Max, but also put the hidden HP buff to its full potential.
Ki This build supports the player's ki. For every 3 levels put 2 in Ki Damage, and 1 in Ki Max. ---

Damage This build supports the player's damage. For every 5 levels, put 2 in Melee and Ki Damage. Then, put 1 in Speed. ---
Ki This build puts the Frieza Race's ki-based ability to its full potential. Put points equally into Ki Damage and Ki Max, ignoring every other stat. The tactic is to dodge and block your opponents moves until they are out of Ki, attacking whenever an opening is there. When they run out of Ki, start whipping out extremely high-damage ki moves (i.e. Power Impact, Divine Lasso), and finish them before they can charge.

List of Namekian Builds

Main article: Namekian Race

Build Description Stat Placement Extra Info?
Ki Damage This build mainly supports the player's Ki Damage. Put everything into Ki Damage. Ki Max doesn't need to be buffed due to the vast amount of Ki that Namekian forms have. With this build, killing NPCs will be fairly easy.
Offense This build supports the player's damage. For every 20 levels, put 17 points to Melee Damage, 1 point in Ki Max, and 2 points in Speed. There should also be distribution to Ki Damage, as there is distribution for Ki Max, but it could also help to keep your forms longer, and use as many melee moves you want, but speed would be better, you would not want to go for Ki Damage in an offensive build, speed helps a lot in punches, as your a melee build, your punches would be two times faster than your opponent (who did not invest in Speed), if you invest in Speed.
Ki Max - "Forever-Form" This form helps the player Use two-thirds points on Ki Max. Slowly, you will build up enough Ki Max to hold even the God Namekian transformation for as long as you need.

List of Majin Builds

Main article: Majin Race

Build Description Stat Placement Extra Info?
Melee This build supports the player's melee. For every 3 levels, put 1 stat point into Ki Max, Melee Damage, and Melee Resistance. The idea of this build is to be able to tank attacks while still being able to dish out damage.
Health Max -

"Wall"

This build makes the player a "tank" (being high in defense). Put everything in Health Max. Enemies will be largely unable to kill you without running out of Ki, and you can kill their base form stats with first transformation even with a large level difference. However, as a disclaimer, in PVE, this build will level a bit slower, but is perfect in team play using Rush to replace low-Ki allies.
Ki Max - "Hold" This build supports the player's Ki Max. Mash as many points into Ki Max as you can. The reason why this build is recommended to Majins is because with a lack of Ki, Majins are practically disadvantaged.
Melee 2 This build is similar to the melee build, only it takes a different approach. For every 5 levels, put 1 point to Ki Max, and 4 points to Melee Damage. It will not matter in view of the fact that Majin forms have a low Ki drain and a good reduction to the amount of Ki that moves use, but having a good amount of Ki Max can be useful in PVP matches.

List of Android Builds

Main article: Android Race

Build Description Stat Placement Extra Info?
Melee Damage - "Glass Cannon" This build supports the player's Melee Damage. Put everything into Melee Damage. All other fields should be covered by the fact that Androids gain 1 stat point in each of them, every time they level up.
Defense - "Tank" This build supports the player's defense. Put half of your points in Melee Resistance, and put the other half in Melee Damage, and Ki Damage, if possible. Doing so keeps your Ki blast immunity, as well as letting you take more melee attacks and dish out damage
Ultra Instinct This build mainly supports the player's Ki Max, to make Ultra Instinct (their only dependable form) last longer. Put everything into Ki Max. Androids have the lowest Ki Max of all other races, having roughly half of the rest (i.e. if an Android had 200 Ki Max, in reality, it would be 100). Therefore, this build should benefit the player.

List of Universal Builds

Speed This improves the player's evasion. Put nearly half your stat points into Speed. The rest are optional. This is not recommended as a primary build, as damage and defense are two most important categories in combat; evasion, on the other hand, would be rather secondary.
