EXP is a key feature in the game that allows the player to become stronger. Players gain EXP by doing tasks such as killing enemies (See EXP Grind too here), Finishing Quests, or talking to special NPC's that give free EXP once a requirement has been met (See here Korin and Guru). It can also be gain through exchanging Zeni with Elder Kai in Central City (Earth) for exp. The exchange is 10,000 Zeni for 100,000 EXP which is quite good early on. After reaching a required amount of EXP, the player then levels up, gaining a small increase in stats. However, the amount of EXP required to level up will increase after each level. This can go from the player needing to get 400 EXP to over 2,000,000,000 EXP (and even more). As the player levels up more, they are able to gain access to more features in the game like moves, forms, and new areas.

EXP Gain can also be doubled by using the Double EXP Gamepass. This will increase EXP players gain by two times for one hour. The effect can also be combined with a double EXP event, allowing the player to gain four times more EXP than normal. (Normal Broly BR 530,000,000 EXP can go up to 2,120,000,000 EXP)

Level Cap

Once the player hits the max level (Level 2,000), they will be unable to gain any more EXP.

EXP Requirements

This is a list of the amount of EXP the player needs in order to gain a level, between the selected levels. (Note that the EXP Buffs that you can find below will also be present here, as it will be 1 - 100, not 1 - 90. This list may not be 100% accurate to actual EXP values.)

  • 1 - 100 = 300+ EXP to 35,000 EXP
  • 100 - 200 = 35,000 EXP to 240,000 EXP
  • 200 - 300 = 240,000 EXP to 1,500,000 EXP
  • 300 - 400 = 1,500,000 EXP to 3,000,000 EXP
  • 400 - 500 = 3,000,000 EXP to 5,500,000 EXP
  • 500 - 600 = 5,500,000 EXP to 100,000,000 EXP

EXP Buffs

This is a list for significant EXP requirement increases players will experience after passing these levels (Note: These are separate from the regular level after level EXP increase, as they happen instantly. The player will see a drastic difference in EXP gain after hitting these points. Normal level after levels increases still occur until max level)

  1. Level 290+ = Two Times
  2. Level 490+ = Four Times
  3. Level 590+ = Four Times
  4. Level 690+ = Four Times
  5. Level 790+ = Three Times

Trivia

  • Transformations can reduce EXP gains from NPC's (The reduction can range from 0.5x to 5x, depending on the level the transformation is unlocked at).
  • Transformations like Ultra Instinct, Mastered Ultra Instinct, and G.o.D do not lower the EXP gain from NPC's.
  • The Majin Gamepass removes all EXP and Zeni gains from NPC's (Note that it also removes Broly BR's Bonus 330 Million EXP).
  • The same NPC's can give less EXP depending on their level, its a 50% Reduction from their max level to lowest.
  • Under some circumstances, the game will kick the player, while also resetting their EXP (Note that it just puts their earned EXP at the current level to 0, the player will have to gain the lost EXP back)
  • The quest for Friaza 100% Gives the highest amount of EXP in the game, at 28,000,000,000 EXP.
  • Hyperbolic Time Chamber Goku is the only NPC that gives EXP from attacks done by the player.
  • Broly BR is the NPC that gives the most EXP from killing him, 230,000,000 EXP (Note that the other 330 million EXP is similar to the T.o.P EXP, it is given by default)
  • A double EXP event does not visually increase the EXP gains, unlike the double EXP Gamepass.
  • The Players EXP bar can glitch out, causing it to become a giant white line going along the screen. This happens mostly between the levels of 400 and 590 by finishing Broly BR, or sometimes T.o.P. The bug can be fixed by just gaining EXP from anything.
  • Other World EXP Gains are based on damage output (the more damage you do, the more EXP you gain)
  • If an NPC kills the player while it's been already damaged, once the NPC dies the player will gain the EXP based on the progress of the NPC. This lowers EXP and Zeni gains if the NPC has been killed at lower health when the player respawns to fight it again.
